JD 855 hydraulic leak

Hi, Our sturdy steady Johnny is leaking out of the Hydraulic drive shaft ( I hope that is what I am looking at). The
oil drips from the unit right above the Filter.
How do you fix this?

Check the vent tube and make sure it isn't clogged. It is the curved tube to the left of the fill hole. If you have power beyond you may have to bend it up just a little to get it to unscrew. It has 1/8" pipe thread on it.

Thanks for that! We checked the tube and it was not clogged. One thing checked of the troubleshooting list!
Any other experience you may have had with this?

Wish I could be more helpful but the only leak mine ever had was caused by excess pressure from the clogged vent tube.

I read of someone else having a leak at that location but I don't recall them outlining the fix.

Best get into the service manual and work through replacing that seal.
