Hi, I have a 1989 JD 855 compact tractor with a Yanmar 3 cylinder 3TN75RJ engine.
I have just replaced the fuel filter but whilst doing so accidentally allowed the diesel to spill out of the fuel connection to the injector pump.
I have primed the system through to the injector pump but cannot get the injector pump to pump diesel up to the injectors.
I have removed the connecting pipes between the pump and the injectors and there is no fuel leaving the pump.
The whole system was working fine before I changed the fuel filter.
Is there a way of priming the TP24 ejector pump?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks Nick.

Leave a discharge open on the main fuel pump and turn the engine over till fuel flows.

There should be a bleed valve on the fuel pump. There may also be a little lever that activates the priming.

Thanks Egon,
I am getting plenty of fuel through to the fuel filter (A) (see photo attached) and the inlet to the injector pump (B) but when I try to start the engine there is no fuel leaving the injector pump going to the injectors (C). I think that the injector pump may be full of air but cannot see any way of priming it.

If you have fuel at the inlet of the injector pump opening a bleed off or racking an injection line while turning the engine over should fill the injection pump.

Uh, any chance a valve, like the fuel solenoid is closed? Might not hurt to check all the safety switches, fuses etc.

!!!CONGRATUATIONS EGON YOU HAVE SOLVED IT!!!
The fuel shut off solenoid valve at the back of the injector pump had jammed.
The engine is now running perfectly.
You have saved me hours of troubleshooting.
Thank you very much.
With kind regards Nick

You're welcome but I surely didn't do much.

You should see what I go thru when the fuel solenoid doesn't clack and that happens sorta often.
