I have an 820 diesel that is in like new condition and it has been a good tractor. Have had it since 1996 bought it with 1100 hours on it and had a
bad clutch (splines on clutch were stripped). Very satisfied with it for what
it is.
Bought it for 3500, installed new clutch, tires, paint, canopy and rops, steering wheel, seat, front wheel bearings, belts and hoses, all fuids and filters. All sheetmetal was perfect and tractor was mostly sunburned from sitting outdoors. I did all this work back in 96 and have used it for light work over the last 10 years with no problems. This summer I will repaint and go thru all seals and gaskets on the bottom that are starting to leak from age, but for a 32 year old tractor that is not bad.
If you are going to buy a tractor this old I reccomend that you get one that doesn't look like it was abused. Hours on the tractor are not as big a deal as improper care and use.
BTW, power steering was an option, mine does not have it. It does have a rear outlet for hydraulics.
