Not sure if it should be here or in the JD thread but here goes. I have a 2005 JD 790 and the loader control valve is bad. It has what I consider excessive creap since it was new, however, has been checked multiple times and is within "specs". The latest problem is if you lift the loader slowly it drops a little befor lifting. According to the JD tech it is leaking by inside the loader control valve. The valve in his words is "a cheap machined valve with no rings that can not be rebuilt". I have confirmed his assesment with a hydraulic service company. Trouble is a new valve is $1000 and will be the same cheap valve. Now on to my question, why can't I just use a universal joystick valve and power it off my power beyond? I can get a joystick valve with power beyond plug shipped to my door for around $250, and still have my power beyond capability. Am I missing something?
Thanks
