I'm looking at a 2006 717A with just over 1200 hours. Everything looks and seems to work great. Just a little spooked by the hours. He claims it's been serviced regularly and it appears to have been. He's asking $2000. Just kinda curious about anyone else's input. Will be used to cut my 2 acres along with my parents which is less than an acre about once a week. Don't want to spend the money only to have to sink a bunch in it. Thanks for any help or advice.

I bought a 2006 JD 717A from the previous owner of my house in January of this year. I paid them $3000 for it and feel like I got a great deal. They did not have a need for it and were going to get stuck with the mower with no need for it. It had 265 hours and has been used to mow 1.7 acre residential lot. It is a really nice mower, and I can mow the grass in about 45 minutes. It is well built, so I suspect if they kept up the maintenance, that $2000 is not a bad price.
