JD #7 BACKHOE SWINGS TOO FAR L/R

New to me is a 1983 JD750 equipped with a loader and JD #7 backhoe.

At issue:
The JD #7 backhoe will swing so far to the left or right
that it hits the hydraulic connectors on the control box and fractures them.

I have all the hoses and connectors intact again
but would like to understand the "where" to adjust the scope of swing.
It is possible there are pieces missing for this adjustment.

Question 1 :
Anyone have any photos and/or experience on how/where to fix this issue so I can avoid further expensive mistakes?

Question 2 :
Anyone know of a source for seat-related parts for this backhoe?
The former owner also took the entire seat (complete bracket assembly and all) off and disposed of it all.

My JD 48 backhoe also has rubber bumpers, though they are a little different than K7LN showed us.

My guess is that yours had bumpers, which are now missing.

I am now using a seat from Tractor Supply on my backhoe. It's a bit nicer seat than the original type. In my case, I had the bracket assembly, but the original seat had some cracks in it. You might be able to adapt a hinged seat bracket from something else - a junked garden tractor, for instance. Northern Tool lists a seat that looks just like the original type for my 48. Tractor Supply had seats, but they were not quite as close to the original type.

I would have bought the seat at Northern Tool, but my son got me the nicer one from Tractor Supply as a gift.

I have the rubber bumpers but the bracket on the backhoe arm appears bent compared to yours.

I suspect that I will need to purchase the piece parts and assemble the seat brace as there is nothing there at all currently.
Is there a junk yard out there for more complete assemblies that you've heard of ?

Interesting... so those flat components are non-standard aftermarket additions.
Revisiting that photo you had (above), I do not see bolts hanging out those stops.
Mine seems to have bolts inserted.
So it appears that someone:
- welded some type of flat steel support onto the side of the arm and then
- inserted bolts into those standard stops to make adjustments but
- one of those added bolts is missing and
- the other bolt appears pretty bent

Confirming that your #7 does not have those flat adds on it?

Actually, the title of your post is not correct.... you hoe actually does not swing far enough. Should swing 180 degrees side to side.

Looks to me like some damaged, tweaked, cracked or broke the boom at one point and did a completely ammeaturish, jack-leg, mess of a repair job that has caused more problems than it's solved. It's blatenly obvious what is OEM factory and what is jack-leg hack job.... and all that crap on the side of your boom is hack.

i could of sworn last year, john deere website, had a online parts manual, with diagrams you could look through. but entering 750 or 7 or backhoe just returned nothing found.

and trying to find just manuals ended as ugly dead ends of JD trying to sell manuals but no pricing listings for manuals. Yikes!
