JD 606 Rotary cutter specs & thoughts

I'm about to buy a John Deere 606 mower and I wondered in anyone had the tech specs on it. (deck thickness, weight, gear box HP)

I'm unable to find a PDF that I don't have to pay $60 for but did find paper for $25 or more on Ebay & amazon.

I borrowed the mower last year to cut my 37 acres and was happy with it. I even repainted it and sharpened the blades before returning it. The current owner owner has upgraded his JD tractor and bought a bunch of new equipment with the deal.

Problem is I just bought a Priefert RMS 600 and plan on selling it to fund the JD. I'm positive that it is a upgrade but just wanted to compare #'s.

The JD could use new blade but they are just fine I don't do any heave cutting, just field grass. It has a stump jumper, chain shields and clutch.

The Priefert is darn near new, the paint is great, blades new, 12g deck, rubber front & rear shields... it uses shear bolts and I would not describe it as a stump jumper.


I figure I can sell the Priefert for $800+ I bought it for $650 and have not used it.
I'd be buying the 606 for $1000

I dont know which one is the best but if you were close Id be interested in the blue one.

The blue cutter is light duty, a 606 is closer to medium duty and a Deere 609 is heavy duty, capable of 4" trees.
