Mowing JD 5325 4WD and mowing?

I just bought a JD 5324 4WD. Can some recommend me some mowers for it. I think Im going to need both a brush hog and a finishing mower. How big of a brush hog can I safely run?

It will comfortably pull an MX8 from JD and will strain just a little with an MX10. I pulled the MX10 in grass, weeds and brush up to 4 feet tall on flat land in Texas, hills would have been a different story!

?How big a brush hog? Likely as big as you can afford.. within reason. Maybe a 6' with one wing mower if you want to reach out some. Doubt you will be limited by HP with 55 PTO to work with. Brushing trails? or clearing land?

And finish mower... more limited by tractor and weight and tire damage on a lawn... IMO.

Looking just at what Deere has or looking at other brands? Looking new or looking also at used?

I will be both Brushing trail and clearing land. Does not have to Deere implements. They can be other makes. And can be used...

We use the mx8 JD with our 5525 and it works great. Nice finish too. I like the pull type, but some don't

Tractor should handle either one horsepower wise. The Bush Hog is quite a bit heavier and you will need more front weight especially if you have hills, which I assume you do in central PA. If you have lots of steep hills I would recommend the Woods mower size- wise, although I think Bush Hog makes a better quality product. Just my opinion. A semi-mount might be a better option for an 8 foot or even a 10 foot mower for your tractor.

My vote, the Bush Hog. It's shorter and wider. That's what I would want. If you could find the hydraulic off setting model all the better.

Been looking at mowers lately. The Bush Hog 3008 was where I wound up if was purchasing one now. That is my vote.

I would also go with the 8ft bush hog. Your tractor will handle it as easy or easier than the 7 ft because it is shorter and has less leverage on the tractor. Also, it turns two small blades instead of one very large blade. I use a Deere MX-8 on my JD 5075 and its a great match.
