jd 485 mower conditioner

I am looking at buying a jd 485 mower conditioner to cut hay on our 7 acre property. It appears to be in good condition. Im worried about getting parts. Does any one have any advice/ experience regarding this mower/conditioner. Thanks.

The model 485 mower conditioner was one of John Deere's earliest designs and doesn't have a very good reputation. I think any special parts unique to these machines are scarce or nonexistent.
