JD 4600 W 460 Loader

Got a chance to p-u a 4600,pwr revsr,and 460 ldr,4wd, has 1100 hrs,nice shape,$17,000- good price ? good tractor ? how about some discussion on this model. Thanks

Mine has over 1500 hours and going strong. I abuse the heck out of it lifting way more than I should and pulling way more than it should. No problems at all in 3 years.

I have a 2001 4700 w/ 460 loader that has done everything I have asked of it. The 4600 has 36 PTO HP and the 4700 has 41.5 PTO HP. In fact mine is for sale if you are interested. It has 225 hours on it and is in the classified section. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've got too many attachments for this one to even think about coming out on trading it Steel. Nothing a 10 series would do that this one wouldn't. With the hours I have on this one now it's not worth much anyway compared to what's in it.

As long as it gives you good service it would not be to practical to trade. You really put the hours on that 4600,my 4400 is almost 3 years old and I have a little over 600 hours on it and I thought that was a fair number of hours. I am like you,I ask a lot out of my tractor,the main thing is to keep the fluids etc at the right level and keep the oil changed and make sure everything stays tight and enjoy.
