Greetings All!
My 4600 temp gauge finally bit the dust - was acting erratically for some time but now the needle is pegged to the red zone and won't move (even when the tractor is off). I have seen a few posts here on this and would just like to replace the gauge and not the whole console. Will a standard automotive temp gauge work fine? Will I need to replace the sending unit also or can I just tap into the existing unit (electrical). If I need to replace the sending unit any idea as to the thread size and pitch? Any advantages of a mechanical vs. electrical unit?
Thanks for the help!!

I've replaced a few water temperature gauges with after market ones and in every case, I use a mechanical gauge instead of an electrical one. For me, I think it's more accurate and reliable. I don't have a brand or anything to recommend, the last one I bought was a few years ago, and I just bought the one on Amazon with the best rating and number of reviews.
