jd 445 snowblower

Hello everyone. Looking to buy a 47inch two stage snowblower off of a jd 445 to use on my x475. I am pretty sure the quick hitch will work but not too sure about everything else like hydraulic lines, driveshaft, carrier bearing etc. Anyone have knowledge of this? Thanks.

IIRC, I think you are right, and the quickhitch will be pretty close.
I am certain I used the 445 quickhitch on my X485, but had to buy the PTO shaft for my broom.

You may have to change part of the hyd hookup, there is a kit bm20896 for around $30. The quick hitch will fit that machine.

I went from a 445 to a 455 and to an X495. It's been a lot of years, but I think I used the same hitch. The drive shaft and hydraulic lines are different between the 445 and x475

It seams like I remember that the old hitch can go on the new model tractor but the new hitch can't fit on the old tractor.

Thanks for the input. Decided to go with a complete unit off of a x700 that I found on CL. Even had the spout control already on it. Think it will do nicely this winter.

You're better off with the X7 unit. Less hassle. Just for everyone's info, the blower off the 445 is direct fit on your X475. The hyd. hoses on the blower will need to be extended with retro kit BM20896. The Quick-Hitch itself is direct fit. The lift cylinder hoses will work as-is. The angle cylinder hoses (if equipped) will need to be replaced with X7 hoses or extended.

The short driveshaft on the blower will work. The 2000 RPM front PTO driveshaft from the 445 will not work. You'll need 2000 RPM front PTO driveshaft kit BM20991.
