JD 4400 compared to Kubota L3130

Can anybody tell me the size difference between the Deere 4400 and the Kubota L3130? A neighbor has the JD 4400 and I'm curious as to its size relative to the Kubota. I can't find any specs on the 4400 on the Deere website. As usual thank you in advance.

I don't have the old JD 4X00 brochure anymore, but I think the JD 4400 is still similar in many respects as the 4410 in terms of engine, weights etc. I know in my recent tractor buying excursion, the L3130 will have a much more powerful loader with the LA 723 then the 4410 and down with the 430 loader. The displacement on the 4400 is 100.2 cu in vs about 91 cu in on the 3130. For simple comparison purposes, the L3130 might be more compared a little more directly with the 4310, but thats a matter of opinion since weight, loader perfomance, price, etc. all play a part in these decisions. You can get a lot of the specs at www.deere.com. Look up the 4410, and choose compare. You can compare it to the Deere 4400, and the Kubota 3430. You can export that to excel, or pribt it and then look up the Deere 4310l compare it to the Kubota 3130. again you can export or print the info,

For closer comparisons… I’d compare Kubota L3130 with the JD 4310…
And the JD 4400 with the Kubota L3430… (Which one were you leaning towards?)

The Kubota’s 1.5 liter diesel as used in the 3130 is not the most efficient for hp as compared to the other 1.5 liters on the market from other mfrs. If you want a “ballsy” Kubota engine…take a look at the L3810 or the 4 cylinder flavor as used in the 5030… very “torquey”… /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks to everyone for their reply. What I was trying to determine was the size of my neighbor's JD 4400 and what a L3130 would like next to it. I believe the length, width, height, wb, etc. would be pretty close. Again thanks to all.

JohnMiller3, I really like the L3130 but wonder how much of overkill it would be for 3 acres. I know Henro thought the L3130 was way too big for his 3.7 acres (?) and he went with the B2910. I'm sure the B2910 would be fine but I sure do like the 3130. And such a small increase over the cost of the B2910.

Knowing and using my neighbor's JD 4400 (and being very comfortable with it's size) I was just curious as to what its equal would be in the Kubota line, specifically size. I favor orange over green but I do like the JD, some things I like and dislike. Of course that also applies to Kubota. If the L3130 is roughly the same size as the JD 4400 I would probably go that route.

Actually the Kubota is slightly larger frame wise than the JD by a few inches width and overall length...

If you were happy with the JD size on your property... for only a few dollars difference in price... I'd get the L3130 over the B series..., especially for the number of bells and whistles you will get extra... and this will help tremendously down the road come resale/trade time...

Besides... you just have to go where your heart is... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
