Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Does the JD use newer technology?

Are you comparing Cab Models, or open station models? Because if you are looking for Cab, JD is Hands down better than Kubota on this.....

The Deere models are a newer design than the Kubota and looks more modern. Its a good looking cab (and I sell Kubota). The rest of the tractor is very compriable. Dealers will learn about Kubota's redesigned line in October.

I am a Deere guy, but I really like Kubotas. I think Deere currently beats Kubota hands down in ergonomics. But I bet Neil is excited to hear about new products (I know I am...). I like the newest Kubota designs and bet the new one's will continue the trend. I really am making myself sick, cause I really do love razzing ol' Neil. Don't tell HIM but even a Kubota will make you proud!

One major diff is that the Deere is Turbo. If you are elevation, that is the ONLY way to go. At sea level, the advantages are as profound, but still may lean to the Turbo engine. One note, All 4000TWENTYs share the same componants throughout, with the exception of some fuel delivery items. A 4320 ought to be loafing, as it is almost a 4720 just 'coasting'.

That said, I dunno that I would like the 4000's Deere engine as well as my Yanmar or a 'Bota.

I have driven both lately. Both are very nice. Both are nearly equal in many respects except for engine noise. The deere has a louder knocking sound to the engine. I told the dealer it sounded just like my JD 5300 and he said it was the same engine. I've got about 3000 hours on my 5300 and no problems. JD seems to use same basic engine for different models in a series, while kubota use multiple engines for slightly different hp machines. The JD method is probably cheaper for the company than so many different engines and parts.

They aren't shy about admitting that. It is also beneficial to the customer. You don't give up hydraulic flow, or something wlse when you compare models, also you are far more likely to find what you want on the lot. In the old lineup, you were likely to find 2WD no-dscv machines (dealers ordering the cheapies...)

Wonder when we'll start seeing engin mods on 4120's...

I watch these 4320 posts. I think that is the next tractor for me. As I have posted elsewhere, I am not happy with my 4310. I would like to see actual owners of 4320's post their operating, purchasing, regrets (if any).

I haven't had a lot of time in the seat of my 4320 yet 95fxdl, but here are some thoughts so far. I have spent 30 some odd years of my life driving everything JD has made since 1965 from the old 4020 through the 30, 40 ,50 and 55 series large frame tractors. I continue to be amazed at how much this small (to me) frame machine acts and behaves so much like the old large frame JD's. The cab on this machine is hands down the best that JD has manufactured to date. It has more visibility, is quieter and more solid and is cooler that any of the ones before it. The machine itself so far has behaved impeccably with no thumps, whines, grinds or any other noise that might indicate any kind of factory defect or problem. The only minor issue I have has so far is an overly hard to operate draft/3 pt hitch control lever. I think I have overcome that problem by applying a bit of silicon lubricant to each in of the cable. It is still a tad stiff, but nowhere near as hard to operate as it was in the beginning. Go test drive a 4020 series machine. I think you will see and feel a world of difference compared to the older 4010's.

Either one would be a good choice, go for the one that 'fits' you best ergonomically, and has the best dealer support.

I wanted to go green but the local dealer blew it, so I went Orange.

If cost is more than 10% difference that may make a difference also, less than 10% who cares, If the only reason you buy one over the other is due to price you will most likely be kicking yourself down the road.

It is those little things and dealer support that really matter.
