JD 4300 lost hydrolics and won't drive

Hey guys, I was driving my JD4300 which is stored outside under a tarp and has had very limited use this summer. Started up fine, drove it approx. 100 feet and it just stopped driving. Lost the hydrolics to the bucket as well. Doesn't move at all. You have to forgive me as I know next to nothing about the engine... but there was a black hose on the left side of the tractor (left as I sit on it) that lookes as though it is for air to go through. It had some good suction in it as it collapsed on itself. When I shut it off, the suction stopped and it expanded again. Any idea.... hopefully not REAL bad??? THanks, Les

I would say hydraulic issue or plugged screen somewhere in the hydraulic system. Have someone come out and service it. Also, check the hydraulic fluid level.

Stop, drop those keys to the ground and back away slowly.
Call 1-800-522-7448 and order an operators manual.

When is the last time the fluid and filter was changed, along with the screen being cleaned? It does sound like a clogged filter or screen.

It has been a while since I changed the fluid and filter.... looks like that is my next project!! THANKS FOR REPLIES!!!!

Did you also clean the screen when you did your last hydro fluid change?

I went through the same problem a few months back. I drained the Hyd.fluid pulled the screen,bad dirty cleaned,filled with fluid and started nothing worked.after a few #%*%# words I started looking things over and the black 90 deg. Hose that goes to the hyd.pump had a crack in the inside of the 90 picked up a new one at my J.D.dealer and installed started up and everything worked.you may have the same problem. Good luck.
