Hi All...I have been learning about CUTs with a thought of purchasing a new one for my woodland property efforts. I have 120 acres of woodlands and want to work on trails/tree thinning and planting/one 3 acre field to brush hog (along with a mile of trails to maintain). I have concluded that somewhere between 30-40HP is where I should "shop". I always like "bigger" but think both weight and physical size would begin to work against me in the woods.
With that in mind I just ran across a JD 4300 (year 2000) with 329 hours...for sale not far from where I live. Comes with a 410 loader/513 brush hog and "60" commercial mower that needs work".
Asking price is $13,500 and looks clean in pictures.
Questions...
1)...what current JD is closest to the 4300?
2) It does NOT have 4WD
I have nearly established 4WD as a "must have"...if this is REAL nice should I look at it anyway? My thought is the loader and rotary (plus the MMM) add some $$$$ value and a price anywhere near $10-11K might be a good "buy"...would I soon live to regret?
3) What is YOUR thought on $13,500 asking price?
Any/all comments would be appreciated
