- 1979 Ford 1500, Toro 455D 10' mower w/ Renault diesel,
I have an older serial # JD 430 lawn tractor. Now that deck is removed, it almost looks more like a tractor.

It has a 3 cylinder Yanmar diesel.
Anyways, we have a 60" mower deck driven by a PTO shaft into a gearbox. The mower deck also uses several pulleys & a double sided V belt. I have several Qs.
I see JD seems to have 2 models of the 60" deck, 0272 & 0273. How do I figure out which one I have?
I have 2 sets of blades, one set has part # M141785, and the other set is M87622. They look very similar. Why the different part #s?
There is a grease nipple on the gearbox. It also uses 80/90 gear oil. I took off the fill level plug and it was at the level, but very sludgy. Is that from mixing grease via the grease zirk? I can smell the gear oil.
This part that helps mount the deck at the front, broke. What is this called, i need to order another, or fix this.
This is the deck with one cover over the belt (right side). There is an adjustable belt tensioner under it. I tensioned the belt, but it won't let the cover fit back on. I wonder if that tells me there is no more tension of the belt remaining? I can definitely slide the tensioner adjuster, but then the cover doesn't fit.
Here is the adjustable tensioner.
And this is the slotted hole on the cover not fitting properly now.
LAST Q!!! (sorry, there are many)... Here is ubderside of deck. How do I align these blades i n relation to one another. OR do you call it timing them? (on my LT 155, timing belt broke, and they were supposed to be timed/aligned perpendicular to one another, or 12/6 o'clock to 3/9 o'clock). Anyways, I assume these should be somehow lined up in a certain sequence. THANKS!!!!!!
