Intermittent failure to turn over, now gotten worse and wont even turn over now.

Battery fully charged - Dash Lights On - New (kit) Starter Relay - Bypassed Seat Switch & Hydro Switch on the lever. Turn the ignition on, go to start, nothing.
Can hear the timer box, cycling sounds the same as usual. I went thru all the grounds, all good there.

The starter seems to be fine. I thought at first i might of had a bad spot in the starter, but when i cross the solenoid wire to the HOT cable on the starter, the starter works fine.

Does anyone have a wiring schematic for this tractor?
I would like to find out which pole on the ignition is suppose to have power, and see which pole sends battery voltage to the relay, then from the relay to the starter.

I`d really like to fix this tractor. I bought it brand new in 1989. Thee ole`boy is kinda part of the family. Just rebuilt the motor last winter. Rebuilt the 60" deck entirely. (new belt - bearings - blades - wheels - u/joints in drive shaft)
Hard to give up on it after all the money i put into it over last winter.

Thank you guys ;)

From reading many of these types of threads, two possibles:

>> Bad safety interlock switch somewhere.

>> Bad ignition switch.

I checked ALL the interlock switches, even by-passed them...nothing changed. Like you said, i`m guessing ignition switch too.
I`m hoping somebody might be able to post a wiring schematic w/voltage path`s so that i can test the ignition switch before i buy a new one. Not to mention, 80 mile trip to the dealership.
I`m pretty old and retired, i dont have a lot of money to just buy parts and try them. I did spend the $20 bucks today for a new starter relay, i figured it was 30+yrs old, was worth a shot.
So, i put the new starter relay in, dang thing fired right up. So i thought jeez, i mighta got it fixed... nope, right back to nothing when you pinch the key hard right to start it.

Thank you Diggin

Well i installed a new ignition switch today. It was only $17 bucks, so i didnt mind paying that bill so much.
The new switch didnt fix it though. Traced it back to the time delay module behind the dash. No power coming out to the ignition switch. (Thank you for the schematic K7LN! It helped me ALOT!) Faulty time delay module.
No way am i paying $350 bucks for a new time delay module. My only true fix was to install a push button starter button. So now all i have to do is turn the key on, push the button, tractor starts right up and runs fine.

I think i`m coming to the conclusion that this tractor is starting to nickle and dime me to death since last year.
I`ve spent enormous amounts of money on this tractor since last winter. (totally rebuilt P220 engine, rebuilt the 60"deck, new OEM muffler, new OEM seat, replaced the steering cylinder $125 w/used one)

If that time delay box finally gives up, i`m done sinkin money into the tractor. Now, with saying that, does anyone know if there is a way to power up the electronic ignition without the time delay control module?
I already know that i`ll have to hard wire by-pass ALL the KILL switches. And i already built a wire harness for the front PTO clutch for the mower if the time delay module finally completely dies.

Maybe i should just swallow my pride and give up on it and part the tractor out. (that weighs heavy on my heart though - thats why i kept putting money into the ole boy)

Thanks to those who contributed ;)
