JD 4120 Hydraulic Failure

Hydraulic pump needs to be replaced. parts, labor, filters, oil etc. Parts and labor about $1700. I wish it was less!

Was the drive pinion sheared?

More info. Dealer replaced pump and hydraulic failed again. They cleaned screens, which had replugged, replaced filter, hooked up to external pump in shop, plugged up and quit again. They pulled open the rear end and found a LOT of "sand" inside...too much to be accidental unless the tractor had been underwater in sandy creek or whatever. That is not possible. They suspect vandalism. Possible. They cleaned the inside, put it back together, flushed a couple of times, and it plugged up again. Now we are at $4000.00 PLUS! Add $5000.00+ to replace all seals and bearings because they can't begin to tell what damage may be lurking in there. So I called the insurance company because I have an"Inland Marine" rider on my homeowners(about$300/year for this tractor). It's covered. So if the repairs don't exceed the value, I'll have it repaired. Waiting for a final answer from the adjuster.
