JD 4115 clicking, won\'t start
After I was finished mowing today, I went to put the loader back on the tractor and turned it off to connect the hyds. When I went to start it, it just made a clicking sound, from under the dash. I checked the battery and the + was big time corroded, I cleaned it up real good but to no avail.
After removing the lower dash, I found the relay closest to the drivers seat on the right side was making the noise. It has heavy red and blue wires going to it and smaller green and brown(?). The injector pump solenoid clicks and the starter clicks and stutters but won't spin. I have my charger hooked up for higher amps and still the same. The next relay is the same as the rear one, so I swapped the connectors and had the same result. I even removed the starter, which is still removed, and the relay still clicks.
Has anyone ever had this problem before? I am thinking something simple is at fault, but am drawing a blank. I would lean towards bad solenoid on the starter, but this unit only has 140 hrs. on it.
Any input is appreciated. Hope this is the right place to post these questions.
