Need more information. My JD 4010 quit moving one day when the coupling between the engine and the hydraulics flew apart. Nothing worked. Of course, the steering did but not with any power. On yours, I think there's a separate pump for the power steering.
Mechanics at Virginia Tractor said they'd never seen it happen before. I didn't look it up on my repair CD that I've since given away to another 4010 owner, but I think it had something like the flexible disc at the engine side in line with the U joint at the hydraulic end, similar to the driveshaft on our 240D that we had.
I wasn't too interested in finding out exactly what happened because I'd decided to trade in for a new one the next year. Just did it one year earlier. Traded for a JD 1025.
