Ok here痴 a new one for me. Working on a John Deere 4100, gear drive, Yanmar 3TNE74 JK1 motor. On start up, the motor goes to full RPMs. No throttle control at all, with excessive black smoke indicating excessive fuel supply. Turning off the switch will not shut it down, the solenoid cycles but with no control, have to manually turn off fuel switch at filter. I致e seen injector pumps not work, or only deliver at limited power. Which is a norm for internal seals going bad. But never seen one do this. Is this a failure of the internal seals, and instead of clogging things up, its over supplying fuel or does this pump depend on some back pressure from the injectors to keep things in balance? I致e not opened it up yet, but the only other thing I can think of is an internal failure of the throttle/ governor. The outer linkage is all working and the throttle arm is in the idle position. I致e rebuilt many a JD pump but really not in the mood to do another one. :frown: Also where is a good source for rebuild kits for the yanmar pumps? Any ideas would be appreciated.
