Tractor
Kubota 4630 with cab and loader
A dealer has offered me a 2006 JD3520 with a factory cab (with A/C and heat) and a factory loader for $22,000. It has 130 hours on it. It also has bar tires, and I really need ag tires for the mud and snow in my pastures. Is this a good price? Any ideas on how I can get him to change to ag tires?

I have a goat dairy farm, and also raise fiber sheep and pigs, so I do a lot of loader work, and also intend to brush hog, plow snow and do genral farm maintenance with this tractor. I'm upgrading from using purely vintage tractors on my farm, which may be less dependable, but are heavier and probably more powerful. Is this enough of a tractor to move large round bales?

Does anyone who has a similarly equipped model have any comments?

Thanks!!!

I think the price is good. I paid about $31,000 for a fully optioned 3720 cab last summer. I have R4 tires and wish I ordered R1. A complete set of 4 R1 tires and rims cost $1,100 from a dealer quote. Maybe you can get him to swap tires from another tractor? If he orders another tractor, have him order R1s and swap?
The loader could probably lift a smaller or mid size round bale but I don't think the tractor is built strong enough for moderate use. Drop the front tire in a small ditch or hole and you will have repairs. Occasional round bale would be ok with FEL. I would opt for a 3 pt bale carrier for round bales and even then it is probably structurally marginal for lots of use. What size of loader is with the tractor 300X or 300CX? The CX has a little more lift.

The price sounds good to me. I bought a 3520 w/cab on ebay with 7 hours on it for $27,000. It came with a 300CX loader w/ heavy duty 61" bucket, 74" loader mounted front blade, cone style fertilizer spreader and a 55 gal. boom sprayer.
I can't say about the round bales as I don't have any experience moving bales.

I agree with radman on the tire swap. Get the dealer to order in a tractor with AG's and swap them out for you. You will definately want the AG's.

$22,000 is a good price for a cab 3520. The tractor has low hours and the cab option alone is worth over $5000. However, for moving round bales you probably don't have enough hydraulic lift and tractor weight. I would suggest a larger frame unit. The 3xxx series loaders and tractors have a max lift capacity of about 1600 pounds. A moderate to large round bale can be in the 1500 to 2000 lb range.

These are very good tractors I have a 3320 with a CX loader and it will pick up anything I can put in the bucket. The a large bale is very heavy and bulky with a major part of the weight protruding from the front of the tractor. I would suggest going to the 4xxx or 5xxx series or go to an older regular farm tractor model to keep the cost down.
