Comparison JD 3000 twenty Alternative

Call me crazy but I am looking at other options. I just feel that the JD (3720 in this case) is more about comfort than work. I want a real tractor. Would something like the 2600 be an alternative, yet still easy to drive? I am not ripping on JD, just not quite sure.

Here is what i can tell ya about the 3720. I have clocked in about 1000 hours on my Dad's 3720 and it is really a good tractor. I have done a lot of different chores with it, dug a waterfall and a pond with only the FEL, no bucket teeth either. It powers his 6' MX6 rotary cutter really well, even in thick and tall brush it does pretty good. It lifts about 1500 pounds on the FEL, that is with really good ballast on the back, that is key. It is tippy, but you get used to it, once you get more comfortable with it you will be a little more secure on what inclines you can travel on. I have pulled loaded trailers with it and had no problems. It is a pretty good machine, it has a good engine, they did good and put HP over frame size so it is a lot more capable in terms of capacity vs. the next models down. I would advise though that you take a look at the MF tractors, they have a good reputation and are solid tractors. I have driven a Challenger, which was about 40 hp, and it was a really good tractor. You sat in it, not on it, really good tractor. I would definitely check them out, that may be what better suits you.

Thanks for the advice. Mostly due to size needs I am looking for a CUT, and it is for general work and not ag use, but I still want a capable one. Appreciate the info...
