JD 2440 Engine Oil Capacity?

Can anyone tell me how much oil should be in a 2440? I don't have an operator's manual (yet) and I can't find anywhere that will tell me how much oil to put in.

The specs call for 6 quarts. I was thinking 7 quarts before I looked it up. The filter part number is T19044.
