I had almost given up on purchasing a John Deere this time around and had my mind made up to go with a B7610 but then a Local dealer started to compete and we are now at $14800. for Kubota and $15200. for the JD, 2320. Both would have a FEL and MMM decks. We will be doing a fair amount of loader work for the next two years but then it may drop off until we build our next home and purchase a little more land. We are mowing about 2.5 acres now so the 2320 should make short work of the mowing.

I have found that the John Deere is about 300 pounds heavier and can handle more weight with the bucket and off the rear 3 point.

Any input on these two?

I did rule out a New Holland TC26 as it was just to far off what I could afford and I am now down to these two. I am used to having the JD Garden tractors and they are trouble free but the Kubota has a heck of a good price.

Have you drove both tractors? I went through this same thing with a JD2520 and a b3030 kubota. i drove and played with them. yes that green paint cost more. I personaly liked the quality . and most important the comfort of the JD . kubota is a nice tractor. but the JD's are more comfortable to drive. and operate. i read many magazines and websites as well as here. and most JD's in same class will out perform most other tractors in there same class. with very little break downs. this is what i have gathered from my own reading. So you look at my sig line you will see what i did....:) tonight i lifted a pallet of 12 , 92 pound bags or portland cement off the back of my pickup. that was extreamly squoted on the ground. like it was nothing. and my pallet forks weight 300 pounds. so whats that tell you. it amazes me every time i use it. I think you would be happy with the 2320. its a very nice tractor. and more comfortable and any tractor of its size. and very reliable. just read these threads. how many have you seen broke. Yes i suppose i bleed green. only cause i done been there and done that. and got my picture taken.....:)
go get the 2320 and dont look back.
and get lots of toys to play with to. just cant have enough toys...:D

My 2320 has done everything I've asked and more. The FEL is strong and works even better if you add a toothbar. I have a bit of a problem with some of the service procedures (I just did my 50 hour service) but the tractor itself is great. You'll really like it a lot if you end up getting one, just remember the HST capacity is 3.4 gallons no matter what the spec sheet says. ;)

You need to do some reading between the lines when your looking at Deere specs. The 2320 lifts 1150lbs at 24" on the 3pt - the Kubota does 1300 @ 24in. Your where probably seeing a ball joint spec. They usually error towards the higher measuring point. You'll see the same thing with the loaders.

I checked the specs again on the 3 point and in the Kubota brochure they show 1058pds, 24 inches behind where the JD is 1150. Link ends on the Kubota are 1356 and JD 1433.

It is a tough choice as I know both are outstanding products. The other thought for the night was to check the book value on a 1 year old tractor and found that the John Deere had about a $1000. higher book value. I don't plan to sell but it is always a thought too.

The largest difference between the two in my book is the fact that the 2320 has position control and the Bota does not. The $400 dollar differnce to get position control is a no brainer in my book. I could really care less about comparing the specs as these machines will do basically the same jobs. I think overall the 2320 is a little more powerful than the B7610, but what really stands out is that the 2320 has position control. Makes doing just about any job on the 3pt hitch easier..

I looked at my 4010 and a B7510 back in 2004 and ended up with the 4010 because it has usable turning brakes (on oppposite side from the HST pedals). The 4010 is a VERY capable tractor. Its FEL holds about 1/2 yard, and I've hauled about 22 tons of gravel with it down a trail through the woods. If given the choice of one with position control, that would be a no brainer. That's one thing I wish my 4010 had.

You should get a carryall and put a box on it or buy a ballast box. You'll need AT LEAST 300-400# on the 3ph in addition to loaded tires for serious loader work. This would be the case for either tractor.

Darn internet died so just got back in here.

I think we have our minds made up. After 26 years of being married to the same wife and with me making all the major decissions (have not had to make one yet) she says green.

I am still trying to get a little more off but it is slow going.

Anyone have any problems with the loaded tires, I get the feeling the dealer is trying to steer me away from fluid due to corrosion. If I go turf tires I will deffinately need weight for digging.

I test drove both R4s and turfs last night and neither dug up the dry grass but the R4s look like the would be much better in any dirt.

I have loaded R4s on mine and have only had problems when it is really soggy in the spring and then only in areas where the dirt on the lawn is only a few inches thick before the solid rock ledge starts. Then I just had to remember to take it out of 4 wheel drive.

No problem at all with corrosion but my tractors only 3 months old. I have heard that the Rimguard (beet juice) filled tires are less corrosive than other types.
