Hi everybody,

I'm new to the tractor world and have been researching a variety of compact TLBs. I think I have settled on a JD2305 w/ a 200cx FEL and 260 BH. I'm not quite sure if the quote I got is average, a great deal, or not so good. It seems that the general concensus in this forum is that 10 to 15% less than what the JD configurator calculates is a good price.
The dealer quoted ($16850 delivered) almost exactly what the configurator calculated ($16808). Then I have also read other posts that describe comparable prices and the replies were to jump on it.

My questions: Is buying a tractor like buying a car? Is it acceptable (or even expected) to counter offer? Is the dealer just throwing MSRP at me and hoping I'm niave enough to grab it?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanx

That sounds a little high I did the same thing you are doing I am new at this myself so I did alot of research on the internet and going to numerous dealers and vendors when I looked at 2305 I had it set up with 200cx loader and 5foot blade I believe it was 13900 but I chose the 2320 with 200cx loader 5foot blade and 54D deck at 17900 the deck was a little pricey though 1900 with hook up's

Yes it seems that the add ons are what drives up the price very quickly. The 260 back hoe is $5260.

I believe the base price with no attachments for 2305 was 10000 but yes I have learned very quick the attachments will jack up your prices I know Deere was running a special if you by two or more attachments you get 200 off:D

Some dealer will deal, some will not. It also depends on the number of units on lot etc. If you have more than one dealer in drive distance shop around. The 2305 I bought at Xmas, was about 14% under list, no setup charge, no delivery charge, and the dealer bought down the interest rate a point. My haggle technique was stating what payment I could afford, and they made it happen. The fact that this was my 3rd tractor from the dealership, may not have hurt my bargining position any.

Have fun, stay safe

Hi Enzo,

A quick check on a JD2305 w/ a 200cx FEL and 260 BH at machinefinder shows a 2009 model (with 3hours) for $15950.00 at the Holkenborg dealer in Ohio which seems like a great deal. If you buy in state, you will need to pay tax or if you buy from out of state (need to have a commercial carrier) you will need to pay for shipping (works out less than tax most times).

Good luck and keep price shopping, you will love your new deere!!!
