Well, I took delivery of the 2210 complete with the snow blower installed. While waiting for snow to arrive, I have been doing some dry runs! A couple of questions: (1) I seem to get some transmission whine in addition to the engine noise. Normal?
(2) Compared with my previous tractor, the ride is firm enough to shake out fillings. Perhaps the tires (rear liquid filled) are inflated too high. The manual suggest 22 psi maximum. In another thread, it is suggested increasing the tire pressure is good when using the bucket. What pressures do you use for the different purposes?

Thanks.

I've a 4010, near a dead ringer for the 2210 in many respects.

It has some HST whine when moving under load uphill or fast on the level.

My tire pressures are speced at 20 psi for the turf tires. I haven't actually checked to see what they're inflated to.

These tractors really don't have a suspension. I drove both a 2210 and my 4010 over some tree roots at the dealer. They both bounced quite a bit.

These are fairly lightweight tractors. They are a little less than HALF the weight of the next frame size 4000 series.

On my 2210 I run my fronts at 26 when using the loader and leave the rears at around 12-14. When I take the loader off for the summer mowing season I lower the fronts to 14-15. The ride is a lot better with less air and less weight - removing my rear wheel weights helps too - but with filled tires you cannot do that.

If you do run lower PSI in the rear you can expect a flat spot to develop but it works out quickly when you start mowing/whatever.

You may have a higher minimum rear PSI with loaded tires.....

I run my tires low for mowing just like FGROSS335, 15 psi front and 10 rear. I have the HDAP tires on my 2210 and the max on the rears is 11 psi which is plenty firm, but I run the fronts at 22 to 25 psi for bucket work. I believe it's possible with fluid in the rears there may be little you can do about the ride. I'm anxoius to play in the snow myself with the FEL and rear blade. am in the market for a used blower.

Pressure depends on the type of tire. The R4's can be inflated to a higher PSI. The max PSI (which is probably what you want in the winter) is right on the tire. And the Owner's Manual gives you a table based on tire type.
