I converted a JD 47" 2-stage from a 318/420/430 to my 2210. Long story short I bought the snowblower with the intention of converting it for my F911 but that didn't work out.

Although I've wanted a snowblower for some time I just couldn't justify the total cost. This one complete was about a $1200 investment.

Pic is attached (I hope, 1st time posting on this board).

Looks like that setup will sure get the job done! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Very interesting! How hard was the conversion and what did you have to convert? I have a special interest in this case, I own a 2210 and a local dealer has a complete 47" setup off of a 318 for sale.

In any case nice job - you saved almost 2/3rd's vs. the new price.

dsb,

Glad you found your way over here. This is certainly a clever adaptation. That blower looks huge! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

The hard part seemed to be figuring out what I needed and could get from Deere vs. what I had to come up with myself. Once I figured that out doing the conversion was not bad.

I don't have the info with me today but I will try to post some numbers and pics tonight. If not I will get it for you tomorrow.

JDF,

If it looks huge on the 2210 imagine what it must look like on a 318/420/430!

Interesting price. now all you need is a soft cab. couple questions; is it quick mount and compatible with a quick swap to FEL? do you have remote control of the chute rotation? post specs, many of us would like to know as JD is so proud of his stuff as to not let it go unless for a lot of money.

Cab would be nice for snowblowing. I may opt for something similar to the Femco Weatherbrake.

The SCV joystick controls the up/down of the blower as well as the chute rotation just like the quick-hitch snowblower.

As far as switching between the FEL and snowblower I don't think my adaptation takes any longer than a quick-hitch setup (5, 10 min?). From what I have discovered, the 'quick' part of quick-hitch is when changing between quick-hitch compatible attachments, i.e. snowblower, front blade, broom, etc. When switching between quick-hitch and FEL it takes a bit more. Actually, everything you install specifically to use the snowblower must be removed when switching back to the FEL.

When I first started down the road of using this snowblower with the 2210 I had intended on using the Deere quick-hitch and just field converting the snowblower to be quick-hitch compatible. However, Deere was not able to tell me if there is, or is not, a field conversion available for this model (S/N M02753X) so I decided to adapt what I had.
