I have a JD 2210 and it is currently leaking transmission fluid in the rear just above the PTO shaft. I've looked on JD parts to see if i can get a new gasket or something, but I can't find any gasket for it. I have a feeling i am not looking at the correct part. Can anyone identify where on JD parts i should be looking? Below is a link to an image of the area that is leaking. You will see a drip forming above the shaft cover, this happens after a few minutes of using the tractor. I assume its a simple gasket replacement but again, i can't find one on JD parts that makes for that area.

I looked at the parts books and I cannot find the gasket you need either. Truthfully the better way to fix it would be to use "The Right Stuff" by permatex. You can get it at most Napa Stores. It comes in a mini caulking tube or a "cheeze whiz" type can. Get the Caulking tube type, they last longer. This is amazing flexible long term sealer. If you ever want the piece off you'll likely have to pry it off and it will not leak. Good luck and skip the gasket.

I think the gasket he needs goes on the same surface where key number 40 roll pin fits. It looks like a simple square gasket with a bolt hole in each corner. Its not listed in the slide you show here. I cannot tell from the picture but it may be the top link attaching plate.

You're correct, the surface that would need it goes on the surface of where number 40 fits. Looking more at my part, It actually looks like it was put on with some sort of putty/caulk material. I think you may be correct. I think i will just remove it and see whats behind it. All else fails i will bring it to the local John Deere place. Thanks for all the help!

You could also make a gasket for that pretty easy and not worry about it sticking later. It doesn't look like too tough a shape to hammer out.

I went out and purchased liquid gasket and found out I didn't have the correct tools to get the rear cover off. Now i have everything needed but still can't get it off. It appears as though liquid gasket was used previously, is there a trick to get the cover off if liquid gasket is holding it on? I took out the bolts but can't get the cover to even budge.

Thanks,

Nick

I am making time this weekend to try again to fix this, any help on getting the cover off would be great.

Thanks,

Nick
