Morning Gentlemen and Ladies.
Since 2004 I have a JD 2201 SCUT which I absolutely love and it has done everything I've wanted to do and even more.
However the other day I had the tractor up on a steep hill, parking brake on, in neutral, and idling.. everything was and has been fine..
I got onto the tractor, put the transmission in lo gear, leaned for ward a bit and took off the brake.. Tractor started moving down the hill as expected and then stopped, I think I lifted up my butt too high off the seat and the safety cut-off switch turned the tractor off.
When I tried to restart the tractor I got nothing.. I checked all the gears and levers, pto, etc etc.. made sure the brake was on, the transmission in neutral.. nothing.. however i did note that the metal seat frame was broken so I replaced that AND the seat switch.. tried starting and I just get a clicking from the starter? solenoid? Dont know.
When I turn the key into the ON position I get the right lights coming on.. but when I try to turn it over I just get the clicking...
battery went bad? loose battery cable? solenoid? starter? Any ideas gentlemen?
Like I said the machines been running fine, turns over first time every time, never had any other electrical issues.
Looking for some ideas..
Thanks in advance,
Mike
