Hi, i have a JD 2210 with a curtis cab and the new curtis console. I also have 4 of curtis' work lights. Two on front and two on back. I was driveing the tracor at night the other day and i was using the lights, and the tractor was at full throtle, and then the lights just shut off and the circuit breaker popped out so in a couple minutes i pushed it back in and it worked for about 5 minutes then it poped out agian.
Now I'm not sure why it is doing this but I think that it might have something to do with the fact that when the JD tech installed the cab and lights he put all 4 lights on one switch which is one circuit and i think that it might get overloaded. So I was wondering if i maybe took the back lights and wired them into my last open switch on the console so the rear lights and the front lights were controlled separtly with 2 different switches. Would this help? Any ideas?

Is this breaker on the main feed to the cab? Or just the light circuit?
If it is on the main feed, adding another switch will not help unless you only run the front OR rear lights, not both pairs.

What size wire feeds power to the cab?
Is there a schematic availeble to post?

Need more info to help you...

no i have no schematic available. I didn't do the wireing, my dealer did becasue they said nothing would be under warrenty if i did it so i just let them do it, so i'm not sure how it is wired. I belive under the console it looks just like a fuse block there is a main source of power and then little plug ins that go to the switches for the accesories.

Download "Pixresizer" from this site.... Works well and is user friendly. http://bluefive.pair.com/pixresizer.htm

Since the dealer said that if you did any of the work, it would invalidate the warranty (a statement that I believe to be false), I would drop the tractors lighting problem on them. Since they were insistent on the install, then it is there nickel to pay for the pick up and delivery of the unit for warranty repairs to work that they performed. If all else fails, you can call Curtis in Worcester MA and ask them what should be done and then give them the manufacturers suggestions of how to repair the problem. Junk....

Gotta agree with Junk on this one. If the dealer installed and wired the cab and you now have a problem then I wouldn't recommend switching wires around myself. That's what he was paid to do, and he should be willing to make the necessary fix for you.

This is when you find out just how good your dealer really is. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he'll most likely take care of your problem. Whether or not he takes care of transportation charges is another story.

Thanks for the input i suppose that is correct but i also think that their statement of the warrenty being voided i think they just wanted to say that so they could get the installation money.

yes i don't know about the transportation charages last time they gave me a hard time about it because when i bought the tractor from them a month ago i also bought a 14 ft landscape trailer so they seem to want me to do my own hauling.

I don't know the wiring schematic, but in my opinion, each of the switches should have its own circuit breaker or fuse and there should be a master breaker (not a fuse) that would protect the entire switch panel. With that many switches on the panel, I believe that they should have broken the lights into two different circuits. One for the front and one for the rear. It appears to be Fan - Heat - Lights - Accessory - Wiper - Accessory. My bet is that either one or both of the two Accessory switches aren't even used... If this is in fact the way it works, then it should be easy for them to split up the circuits..... that is, if they brought the wires from the lamps to the switches individually. If they just ran one wire and then connected the four lamps to that one wire, you know why there is a problem. Many mechanics don't understand the principles of automotive electrical wiring or just take short cuts to save time and materials. Out of curiosity, how much does a panel like that go for???? Junk...
