Can any of you folks who have a JD 2210 with factory bar tires help me? My 2210 came with turfs. I would like to get some bar tires to put on the existing rims. I would prefer to use the same ones the factory uses. Can someone give me their bar tire manufacturer / model name / tire size for both front and rear? Thanks.

You may find out that the bar tires will not fit on the same rims as your turf tires. Hope not, but seems that is the word going around. But may get new rims too.

<font color="green">I'll look at my bar tires when I get home to be sure of the brand. I am puzzled why the rims would be an issue if both the turf tires and bar tires that go on the rear of a 2210 are 26/12.00-12 as I recall. The front are 18x8.50-10.

If you go into John Deere's online parts catalog you will find only one rim show up for the 2210. If there were two different rims wouldn't you expect to see that reflected in the parts catalog?

<font color="green">The bar tires on my JD 2210 are Carlisle Tru Power . The sizes are as reported in my earlier post.

I hadn't noticed before but the tires say " Made in the USA ." That was a pleasant surprise!

mhalla,

Thanks for your help. Turns out those front bars are hard to find, the rears are very commonly available. I have chains on the rear and they worked fine for the winter, but this past week, the front turfs aren't providing enough traction in the woods.

I notice the turfs and bars appear to have the same outside diameter. I wonder, can I keep my turf/chain rears and install the bar treads on the front? This would allow me to work in the woods, then remove the chains, and put the front turfs back on to do lawn work. In terms of wheel changing, fronts are much easier (lighter) to handle than rears, so it would be nice to leave the rear tires alone.

Any else do this on their tractors?

I got turf tires on my rears and bars on front. This setup is ideal for as you say, "woods". I have 4 acres on some pretty extreme slopes. Lots of places I cant go to, but shouldnt anyway. The extra traction the fronts give you is worth it, and when you dont need it, just switch out of 4wd. The little tires in front dont tear up turf that I can remember. (I use for over a year now, a yammy 400 kodiak atv for my yardwork now, and a zero turn 26 hp. gravely mower with bar tires on it for mowing. Tractor does digging, moving mass quantitys of dirt....scooped and dumped into a wagon, then hauled by either my 660 grizzly atv or my kodiak.) I have had good luck with this setup. I have also , since I dont mow with the tractor, turned the rear wheels/tires around to give a wider stance.
