Jd it looks like you have already cover this but my Cub was doing that and it ended up to be nothing more than a low battery. Those electric clutches pull a load that can do that without a good battery.

mark, just went out and tried a new truck battery with 1150- ca and it did the same thing, i cant find the circut breaket in the wiring, supposed to be one between pto and ammeter??? i have a wiring illustration, thnx cy

Meaning no wires connected to the clutch....or meaning the clutch is not connected to the mower deck?

Do you have a wiring diagram?

yes i have a wiring diagram, wiring is unplugged from clutch but clutch is still hooked up to mower re belt.

i an going to remove rear fender seat etc, and check all the wires i can find nd check for a short, will be back.

all repaired, thnx to everyone for the help, problem was the wiring for the disconnected seat safety switch, thnx again
