JD 185 opinions?

There is a 185 for sale locally with a banged up deck, ad says he hit a rock and broke a pulley.

I have been keeping an eye out for an older lawn tractor to pick up.

Anyone have an opinion about the 185?

How good is the Kawasaki engine?

How available are deck parts?

80s kawasaki is a great engine if not better than anything made these days will last ages .it is a hydro i would take it for a ride see how it respondes if it seems good get it deck parts and drive belts are easily located on ebay they are late 80s earlie 90 tractor and are built tought. i have a 170 with stick shift and kaw engine only parts ive replaced are belts a spindle 70 dollars and ignitor on engine along with coil because i didnt listen to the guy who said it was the ignitor for a 24 year old tractor thats all the parts besides for normal maintence that it has needed yet.i would check it out the deck can be fixed for under 100 probly .if it is a 38 inch deck i have parts for it pm me
