I needed to use my 1070 to dig out some snow drifts this past week and at <20 degrees she barely started. It turned over a couple times then tick-tick-tick. My second attempt got it started put just barely.
I realize cold weather brings out the worst in old batteries. (this one must be 5-7 years old).
JD wants $120 for a replacement group 30H. I could probably pick up a car battery for about half that. Or I could get an Optima Yellow Top group 34 that should fit for about $170 at Costco. (I use a Yellow Top in my JD 455 and it's performed well).
I'm strongly leaning towards the Optima. Anyone else have any experiences with them in a 1070??
