JD 1026R Light Flasher Relay Location?

Does anyone know where Deere hid the Warning Light Flasher Relay? I want to replace with a low amp trigger flasher & upgrade lights to LED.

I looked around and could not find it. It is not in the fuse block either. The 3 relays there are for other things. I looked at the JD Parts website electrical schematic and could not find it either. I submitted a question to them, here is the reply......

"According to the model 1026R parts catalog number 10454, the Relay part number is AL202581. Since the part illustrations in the parts catalogs are only exploded views of the individual parts, the part location is not shown. For this information, you will need the Technical Manual. Also, your local John Deere dealer may be of assistance."

Not a very helpful response for a wear/replacement part, guys!!

They are saying go to your dealer and look at the schematic, or... get the tech manual. Seems helpful to me, but then we be different.

Or possibly a TBN member will have the tech manual and can post the schematic for you.

Yeah, but after years of working on vehicles I've never had to search for a light flasher before!!! They were always under the dashboard or in the fuse block. So this irritates me.

Yes, I'm too cheap to buy the tech manual, mostly cause I won't need it for anything else! Too old to do heavy mods anyway.

The dealer is not way out of the way - I just thought somebody might have done an LED light mod already. I need to get the matching relay plug type.

on my 4400 it is right under the turn signal lever....had to take dash apart to get to it.

Thanks, patchnball. Over winter work break we're gonna look for it. Will try turning flashers on & listening for it - I suspect the 1000 Series will have flasher located in same spot, under the dash. Why in the world would a reputable, long time tractor maker like Deere hide a routine service part like a flasher relay instead of bringing it out to the service fuse panel with the other relays?

A flasher relay is not a routine service part IMO. I'd think it would be a rare service item, but if they go bad then obviously "less rare".

Then there are those that want to replace the Deere part with something else. That wouldn't be "routine" either.

dealer gave me what they thought was the part.....they didn't know where it was either......took it home and couldn't find THAT part anywhere. So, figured start at turn signal switch and move forward. Yep, back to dealer with faulty part and they had a replacement. But, took a bit to tear down and put back together. MINE was not working at all, so no SOUND to follow. Good luck.
