JCB BACKHOE FUEL TANK MANUAL SHUT OFF VALVE

I am in need of a manual fuel shut off valve at bottom of fuel tank on a jcb 1400b. Anyone know the size and thread of the tank pipe or hose to the water seprator? I would like to buy valve to keep fuel from flowing out of tank while I am changing filters and cleaning out separator .

I don't have a clue. (I have a 1550)

I don't recall any flowing issues when I remove my bowls. Does yours flow or are you asking as a precaution?

I have a steady flow when the fuel/water separator is taken apart.

Perhaps a dumb question.....but....could you put a cup, bowl.... bucket under it to catch the drip, flow, gush (?) while you're cleaning & changing filter....then when you put it all back....dump it back into the tank?

Otherwise...call me clueless.

Actually here's another idea.

I'm trying to recall if mine goes from the tank to the transfer pump to filter or to the filter then transfer pump...

If it goes to the transfer pump first, could you just run the machine until the level was below the transfer pump? Then there would be nothing to drip down since it would first, have to travel up to the pump.
