Jacobson G20 Tractor, Told it was made by Massey.

Hello, I was just over a friends who has this Jacobson G20 tractor, which he said was made by Massey. It is a 2 WD, with 6 foreward speeds, and 2 reverse, diesel engine. The 3PH doesn't work, it fact it feels like something is broke inside due to it being able to be lifted by hand. Any additional info on this tractor is appreciated, and does anyone know if it is a Massey for sure, and what the Massey model number might be so my friend can possibly get parts, and get his 3PH repaired. Possible that Jacobson contracts with Massey to build tractors, but I've never heard of such. Then again, there's a LOT I don't know.

HOWEVER- On most any MF 3-point I've ever worked on, you could always grab the lower links and raise them up by hand. That's true with MOST 3-point hitches. That "floating" keeps the rear wheels on the ground.

I could be all wrong, but I seem to recall Jacobson being absorbed by TORO a few years ago. (Mostly golf course or commercial groundskeeping equipment)

I just did a quick search on Jacobson. They're a division of Textron. Their website is www.Jacobsongolf.com

They manufacture turf/golf course equipment and Ryan sod cutters. No listing for tractors.

Jacobson had a contract to buy Massey tractors and re-badge them for sale. If your friend’s tractor is like the G20 in the attachment it would cross to a MF 245. This is a 1987 or so it was said to be.

I was thinking that this tractor was similar to an early model MF240. The three-point system is a Ferguson system.

WOW, thanks Jerry, that's the tractor he has. His has a huge ROPS, and no fenders, but the front and rear tires are exactly like those in the picture you poster. Thanks a bunch!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
