LS J2030H
Hey all just a quick few questions. Ive hit about 100 hours and want to change the fluid in my trany but I have no LS dealers around Only JD and Kubota what would be an acceptable fluid to replace my hydrostatic transmission fluid with. im assuming this is also doubles as the hydraulic fluid running through my loader.

And are there any cross references to different available tranny and hydraulic filters since there is no dealer around.

and what is an acceptable alternative for the fluid in the front end as well.

Thanks Guys

Any hydraulic transmission fluid (regardless of which dealer you purchase it from) should suffice. For the front axle, 80w-90 is what is recommended, and is easy to find (as is hydraulic fluid) at TSC or similar. Filters, someone here has already criss referenced them I believe.

You could also check with the nearest New Holland dealer for parts, I believe they use LS for their SCUT line as well.

I like the synthetic or semi-syn 75w-90 in the front axle. It seems to have a much quicker flow rate, especially on those zero temp mornings. Those axles on these little tractors just don't take a lot, so it isn't a wallet buster at all. A good quality Universal Tractor Hydraulic fluid is available everywhere, WalMart, TSC, farm stores, etc.

You can go on Wix dot com and or NAPA and see if they have your trans/hydro filter. Unlike the fluid, those filters are highly specialized and some are only available at a dealer. Since New Holland used that same tractor (as did several others in different colors and decals), it should not be too hard to locate.

LS had told us to put in a low temp HYD fluid in the HYD system. For the J2030H what we use here is Castrol Trans-c. Its a High Performance powershift fluid.

so in other words order OEM filters One more quick question i change the hyd fluid when the tractor is dead cold with all the pistons relaxed correct? I dont have to warm the fluid up at all.

My dealer told me to buy Universal Transmission Fluid at the local Sam's club, because it worked perfectly, and was less expensive. I reminded him I'm not trying to save any money on fluids/filters, and insisted it was absolutely fine, so that's what I went with.

You can now find OEM filters online:
