J2020H vs XJ2025H $3000 difference....wondering if its worth it.

Been looking at the LS XJ2025H for a while. Recently a 2001? J2020H showed up within a couple hours of me that I'd have to pick up. 300 hours. Serviced after being traded in to the original dealer. Haven't been able to go look but pics look good.

Another unit...XJ2025H with 20 hours on it just popped up priced about 1800 less than a new unit. About $3000 more than the 2020 but this unit would be delivered.

Can anyone fill me in on the differences. It looks like the 2020 is a smaller engine but similar HP. By the pics the 2020 has heal toe Hydrostat. The 2025 is side by side which I prefer.

Any other differences? Looks like the 2025 has a quick detach loader and a quick detach bucket (maybe a skid steer bucket set up?). Thanks.

The LS USA website appears to have all the info you are looking for. Still shows the J and XJ series. Note the live link to the J series is all the way to the bottom of the page.

Under attachments tab it lists an optional quick attach loader. The pictures do show that but it appears they did not have the skid steer quick attach bucket setup on the J.

In my opinion the price difference between the two is worth it to go with the XJ2025. I don't believe the J2020 has been built since late 2013 or early 2014. The XJ series replaced the J2023H in late 2014 (the J2023 was a transition model between the older J series and the XJ series). The XJ2025 has a nicer seat, comes with a toolbox, has the twin hydro pedals instead of the rocker pedal, has a little more horsepower, and in my opinion having the skid steer quick attach on the loader is by itself worth at least $1000. There is also the fact that the XJ2025H you're looking at should have a lot more of the warranty left than the J2020. I have a J2023H myself with loader and the belly mower and have been very happy with it.
