I was looking for a different photo today when I ran across this one of our back yard, our two daughters, their German Shepherd, and our first motorhome from January, 1975.:D

I wouln't say it was a freak storm, but usually only one or two like that a year; probably 4" deep or so. The girls were 6 and 9 years old back then.

OHHHH that looks so good Bird thanks for the few seconds of heat relief. (53 days over 100 this summer ((central Texas)) and no end in sight!)

The Dog days of August are AHHHHHHHot!

It's freaky only if it is more than 3 times a year in Amarillo Texas, Twice in Dallas, Once in Austin and once every 5 years in Houston.:D

I was stationed down there in 88-89??? and they had some snow then, probably more ice then snow.

1975-77 were our last big storms up here, not saying we don't get snow, but those were our last real big storms. year before last we got 48" during 1 storm.

A little more relief from the heat. This was Valentines Day 2004.

If you are talking about the time around Christmas of 1989, yep, we had an ice storm and a record low of -1 on December 23, 1989. Naturally we had to be here for Christmas with the kids, and 2 days after Christmas we headed for Arizona.:D The temperature that morning was up to 31 when I hooked up the trailer to go.

I was in Texas for about three years and got to accept the hot weather, but I am not sure I would want to do it again. As for high temperatures tomorrow will be our first real chance to break 90 degrees here in New Hampshire, so they said on the local channel this morning.

Wayne, it's a little cooler here today; only 92 so far. But all the stores are having clearance sales (50% off they claim) of their summer patio furniture, so I bought a 66" x 40" glass top table and 6 chairs today, and even with the air-conditioner running in the shop, the sweat kept falling on my eyeglasses while I was assembling that stuff. I got it all done, and got a shower, but I'm just plain tired now.
