Evan: For the first 40 years all I ever used for welding on the farm was my Bernard short stub. Since retiring I've purchased new ones even though it wasn't necessary.

Welders either love them or HATE them. Personally I like them better than the Tweco clamp style. I have some of each. (Just because..).

I like it the short stub. Can tighten it with just my thumb.
Now if i could get this bobcat to run 1/8 7018

It's a bobcat. I've welded with some that did, and some that didn't weld anything worth a flip. But again, a bobcat doesn't weld near the same as a ranger to me.

I prefer the Tweco clamp style like in Big Barn's picture. Of course that's all I ever used for 40+ years. Heavy duty, quickest loading, holds all sizes of electrodes and at variable angles, and used in the roughest of environments without a problem.

Hoping ounce i can dial the voltage dial below 7 that welder helps me weld so i can run higher amps lower voltage.

I have tge tweco 200 amp aswell as the short stub. Ive only used the clamp style figured id give the short stub a try to.

Going to order a fine adjust rehostat and see what hapoens
