It's Just A Tractor?

So I stopped by my local Kubota dealer to pick up a little bottle of touch-up paint for the tractor. I want to cover a couple little battle scars to prevent rust and to keep it looking nice. When I brought the $10 bottle home and showed my wonderful wife, she said "Touch up paint? Why? It's just a tractor!" It's just a tractor? Are you kidding me? I've called it a therapist, a workhorse, a lifesaver, an indispensable tool, a man cave, and many other words that escape me right now, but I would NEVER call it "just a tractor". In 20 great years of marriage I've learned to bite my tongue from time to time but this time I nearly chewed it off. I just shook my head and walked away.

Well there are tractors and there are tractors. We have some that haven't seen paint or been washed in years, one has a coat of red Rustoleum on it; some are 60+ years old and then there are those that do get the touch up paint and even a couple that have been waxed.

Well I haven't waxed it yet, but I have to admit it has crossed my mind a couple times. I mean the hood could really benefit from a good waxing!

As far as "there are tractors and then there are tractors", you're absolutely right. I don't use it to make a living with (I would probably starve to death). I'm amazed at the tractors I see still going strong after years of use and sometimes abuse. I hope I get the same long life and dedicated service out of my Kubota.

Well, I have only been married about 25 years, but, what I have learned is to never remind my wife about anything she may have said in the past. I have found that when I am tempted to say something that "yes dear" seems to work pretty well. Other than that, not so much.
