well my father-in-law's co-workers father-in-law is going to sell his tractor. The only info i have is that its an International with Hydrostic drive and between 60-90Hp and has a loader. It is under cover and has been kept up good and is in good shape is what I here. Im guessing (just instinct) that its a 70's model. It is just what I have been looking for. I have a International hydrostatic now thats 50HP and want a bigger one. because everyone connected works or is on vacation i wont be able to see it till next weekend. What I am very surprised at is that its only $4500. WOW!! thats sounds too good to be true. i would have figured 10 grand. Its either deal of the century or an old jalopy. Cant wait to find out. I will take pic so we can laugh or congrat! i would think if it starts and runs and works at all i should buy it at that price what you guys think?

Depending on how it was used would be if that is a good price or not. The old International Hydros make great haying tractors but when people hooked them up for tillage they would tear them up. This is one reason the hydro tranny had a bad reputation among farmers. If it was a haying tractor most of its life then look it over close and if it looks good and everything checks out then pay the man.

Sorry about not replying to your other post but I have no knowledge of sickle mowers nor any prices of new ones. I am curious though, what brand and size hay wagons did you get and how is the price on them this year? If I recall the last Pequea I bought in spring of 2004 was around $1700 for a 9x18 (no gear and I put it together myself). This was before the steel prices went thru the roof.

The running gear was $1200 each. I cant remeber what brand.
They went up about $100 I think they said which is not bad considering steel went way up. that haybine was $11,000. As far as hydro goes Im not sure its history either but with loader and if it runs good and hydro works sounds like a steal!! I will let you know when I see it.

Well the only thing i found out so far that it is an international 460. That doesnt make me very happy. I havent seen it yet and got no more info. Im suppose to look at it this weekend. It was suppose to be between 60 and 90 horse and hydro but the search i did at tractordata says its a 221cc 6 cylinder gas
with about 50 horse pto and 45 drawbar. Also says built between 1957-1963 now that really makes me mad because that is way older then I thought and I dont believe they had Hydro at that time. I read somewhere where they started hydro on internationals in 1968. I already have a 544 hydro with the same horsepower so Im not gaining anything just looking for a good deal at this point. Can anyone tell me if they had hydro at that time or maybe they made tractor much later then 1963 and if that 221-- 6 cylinder gas is a tough motor with lots of power or torque or anything special. Any help or knowledge before i go look at it will be helpful in my decision. It suppose to have 3pt hitch and live pto and a loader but thats all coming second hand info.

any other info would be great.
