....it happened - Optima battery time for my 4100

Well, after keeping an eye on my battery in my 2001 4100, I read an old thread here yesterday that mentioned that you could not see the battery leak until you lifted the battery out. I had a bad feeling about this and when I went home and yanked the battery, sure enough, it was leaking. I spent some time last night with baking soda and water cleaning up the battery compartment. The acid had eaten through half of the foam pads at the bottom of the compartment /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I am off to PepBoys tomorrow to buy a yellow top D51. Thanks a bunch to everyone who posted information on the batteries on this site, you made this process much easier, as I did not have to do any research myself /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

139 bucks later, I am the proud owner of a Optima D51 yellow top battery......I am having a good time cleaning up my battery compartment with baking soda and a toothbrush....DOH !
