It looks like my BX2200 fuel tank is starting to leak. I called the dealer and they have ordered parts for repair. I was told/read that its not actually the tank but a bung fitting for the fuel quage? Is this true?? The dealer has also assured me that the small bladder tank has already been changed. I know this is a common problem, one that Kubota engineers need to address, or correct with the new models? The dealer is also going to tighten the hood up to eliminate that rattle at idle.

The bladder tank was an issue a while back, one that has been corrected with later tractors. The leak you have is also a known issue, and I believe that the latest production has the fix that was published here a while back. The problem is where the fuel sender is attached to the tank. Apparently not all tanks have the perfect opening for a permanent seal and start to leak. The parts kit that he ordered for you fixes this by actually clamping it into place. It'll be right as rain when they get it done...

i beleive you tractor has had a few problems with fuel tank leaks, and i also beleive it is not a majior fix, they should be able to get it done in no time(do a search for this problem and u willsee) as for the rattle, all tractors no matter the make or model will have rattles at different rpm's one bx2200 may rattle at idle the next will rattle at 1800 the next at 2200 at least this has been my experience.

I thought the fuel tank leak was a factory recall notice and you should have got a notice and the fix was free.

there is a kit they will put on it is to make the fuel senson which is
on the top right part of the tank seal better. it is a warranty item. let them fix it and pay for it.

My BX is about 1-1/2 years old.
I thought they fixed this problem in the latter models. My currently does not leak.
From reading these emails it makes me think that Kubota made no fixes and is waiting for the consumer to have problems. I have never received an recall information. Should I be giving the dealer a call?

As stated in other posts, and in this one as well. There were three things that happened on the fuel system. The first being the small tank inside of the left frame. These tanks were replaced in house, and should all be up to date. For those that were sold, there was a campaign that the dealer was resonsible for getting the units and repairing them. All units have been updated....every one, Kubota has a listing of every tractor that had the older tank. The second problem with the BX series was the actual fuel sending unit. The float valve was angled wrong, and it would show in an inaccurate amount of fuel. These have also been taken care of by Kubota. The third and hopefully the last, were some tanks where the sender sits in the tank had too large of an opening. The sender would not sit snug in the tank. Prior to making the kit, tanks were replaced with a new tank. The new kit is out now, and it comes with a different seal, and some kidney shaped brackets that curl inside of the tank, and then are tightened on the seal to assure a tight fit. All of the things have been posted, and all have been corrected. Kubota has fixed all the problems, and are no longer shipping units with these problems.
