I'm not sure if this site might help you with your project. They sell power steering kits for older full sized tractors but looking at some of the kits and reading the FAQ's might point you in the right directions.

Robbie, you hit the nail squarely on the head. The lack of PS on my 1995 B7100HST was the main reason for my moving to the BX series. I spent about a year looking for safe and ingenious ways to install PS on my B7100. I eventually came to realize that the cost of new parts was prohibitive, that a lot of work would be involved, and that the end result might not be completely satisfactory.

There is still a demand for the legendary B7100. If you consider its market value, and then add the cost of fabricating a proper PS for it, you will arrive at a final monetary value for that B7100. If you do the calculations, I think that you will find that you can actually buy another used Kubota with factory engineered PS for about the same price as the above final B7100 monetary value.

i paid 5600 for unit 3 years ago put 400 plus hours on it has loader and 60" mmm. parts total going to cost aroung $250 good ole ebay. unit has 1800 hrs on it now just done al fluid chages and grease. have to replace 1 hose on loader that is starting to "sepe". with power steering in good working order and installed to look lke factory. I would have to think long and hard to even consider an offer of $8500. for the little power house. As far as major components search for DANFOSS on ebay This is most expensive part. yes have to fab a colum nad hoses tractor supply carries hoses and they even got a 5" travel cylinder for $85 just time involved at that point and usingtorch plasma cutterand mig welder

I think it looks great!

Some of these guys don't know how to appreciate the finer mowing decks in life. :D :D

I have enjoyed reading about your project. Thanks for the pics. Actually, I'd like to see a pic of the entire tractor.

So how did you end up tapping into your hydraulics? did you go for the tractor hydraulics or the loader hydraulics?

Interesting that you decided to put the steering valve right behind the steering wheel. I was expecting to see something more like the ebay link someone posted recently for the b7300 power steering conversion where the steering valve is down where the gear box normally sits.

So how does that steering valve work? Just like a car where you turn it a bit and the cylinder extends a bit or if you turn it a bit and hold it the cyclinder will keep extending till you 'center' the steering wheel?

Thanks for the pics!

Charles

As Charlz asked, it would be of interest to know how you tapped into the hydraulic system. I have a mower with hydraulic steering that has all these parts and am trying to figure out if they can be converted to use on a small tractor. I have a couple of people interested in the system but I wanted to confirm it will work for them.

I actualy used the inder the was designed for air yes it states right on it air cylinder. it was the only would my brotherin law had. a new one is like 400 it has to be custom made.

from the pump the is a line and it has a block onit that block is not a straight through it has a in and out the inline runs to the laoder valve and back out through on outside via the p.b port and goes back tothe 3 point lift iconnected the p port on danfoss unit to p.b port on loader valve. then from t port n danfoss to the block where the pb line was.

i dont think u will be ableto tap into hydro it depends on psi i think is only like 20psi for the lines from hdro to cooler
