Hi all, my name is Kaz, i live in the south of Poland, just bought 1 hectare of land, and last week i bought an iseki tx1500 (2wd) second (3rd/4th/5th) hand.

One of the previous owners built this digging machine (excavator?) and connected this to the back. Everything was running (starting) ok, and last weekend i decided to take this excavator off, to give it a good cleaning and have a good look at it.

From the moment i took it off, it won't start anymore. The starter engine is running really slow (1x/second?), and battery dies really quick.

I downloaded an operations manual, and in the 'problems' section it actually says when 'starter engine runs slow', i should look for and clean/fix the 'grounding terminator'.

Here is where i am lost. What is this and where can i find it? I did a really good google, but there is nothing. I assume there must be some grounding cable from battery to chassis? I can see nothing there now, but where to chassis/frame should i put it?

The really funny part is that everything was ok with this excavator, so i assume this somehow functioned as ground? Is this possible?

Sorry if it's a stupid question, i am new to this world . I really love this iseki, i will try to post some image.

Thanks and have a great day,
Kaz.

You can add a grounding strap ANYWHERE that theres metal.. I like to install it to the starter mounting bolt..

Ok thanks, but: Do i have to connect the negative pole of battery, or the positive? Can it be ANY wire, or does it have to be a really big one?

Sorry to sound stupid, i am just a computer programmer :)

Is it possible that the hydraulics are not making a circuit any longer and loading the engine/starter significantly ?

As far as a ground, it should be a stout wire, on the negative pole, it carries a heavy load.

This is the only explanation i have. Everything was ok, until the moment i disconnected this structure (including hydraulics). After this everything went sour. And i really want to use this machine without the excavator...

YES..
TRY moving the steering wheel back & forth while cranking the engine..
..that might bleed off enough pressure to allow the starter to do its job..
Give it a try..

You are joking right?

No he's not and it would help the problem some IF your tractor had power steering but it does not. He's suggesting providing a path for the hydraulic system to ensure it is not going through the relief valve which takes a lot of energy. One option is to just hook up the hydraulic lines temporarily from the excavator (hopefully this can be achieved easily if the hoses are long enough without having to install it back on the tractor) and see if it makes a difference to eliminate the coincidence that the battery failed, or some other unrelated problem, at the same time the excavator was removed.

Ok i am sorry if i took this the wrong way.

I will have a play this evening, just bought a really thick cable, i will connect as suggested the battery negative to the chassis and test.

If it doesn't work i will reconnect basis parts of the excavator, should only take 30 minutes. And then test again.

Thanks sofar :)
