Hello... first post. I searched for this and didn't find an answer and hope someone hear can. I recently found a tractor on Craigslist that I wanted to purchase... their dealer support here in New England is VERY thin. VERY. Not a show stopper for me if I know I have good access to engine parts. I'm about to bail out on the unit but asking the experts one final question... is there a channel for Iseki engine parts similar to the sort of parts availability you see for Yanmar? I can find it but just trying one last thing before moving on. Thanks in advance for any help.

The parts availability for Iseki tractors is not as extensive as for Yanmars. However, there is/was a current Iseki dealer in Hawaii that could supposedly get virtually anything. Many of the Iseki tractors use Mitsubishi engines, and parts are readily available for those engines. A lot depends on what particular engine that tractor has. Service type parts (belts, filters, fluids, etc) are auto parts store items. Some dealers may have in-stock parts for Mitsubishi-powered equipment that shares the same powerplant as the Iseki. If it is one of the Isuzu powered engines, parts are more scarce, but not totally unobtainable.

Iseki makes some very good tractors. In fact, one of our TBN members lives in the same town as me and used to sell tractors....beautiful A grade Yanmars mostly but his personal tractor is an Iseki.

Parts ARE available but probably not as prolific as Yanmar or Mitsubishi. The small Isekis TX models actually used Mitsubishi engines which has very good engine parts support. Some Iseki TA models have a lot of similarity to Massey Ferguson models, the TA210 and 230 are very similar to a MF1125 for instance.

Out of curiosity, what model are you thinking about?

Hey guys... I sincerely appreciate your knowledgeable replies. The tractor I was interested in was a MF GC2310 which Tractordata lists as being powered by an Iseki unit. I've learned a little bit about what **** is going to look like when I get there by trying to find certain hard-to-locate parts for older motorcycles. Does anyone think bailing on a decent deal for a GC in good shape does not make sense?

Hmmm.. now that I've created a thread for "Iseki parts" it finally shows me the parts threads I couldn't find before posting my own:) LOL...

Thank you again... great forum!

I think 284 and I were on the same page of being under the impression you were looking at a grey market machine or truly old" U.S." branded Iseki made model. LOL.....A GC Massey would be considered a relatively new model for sure. Tractors are not like most vehicles, most reputable makes are made to be in continuous service for 30-60 yrs or even more. My 24 HP Mitsubishi is 30 yrs old and still performs great in every aspect and I can get almost any part to it still yet, definitely all the engine and reg. maint. parts easily. I would NOT be concerned about parts availability on a 5-10 yr. old Massey for some time to come. I.E.....I wouldn't bail because it is not a model in current production and I'm sure a 2410 ( next model produced after the 2310) has many crossover parts.

Hey Kernopelli... sorry I was so misleading! I'm new to the tractor thing and will continue to mess up, I'm sure:) One example of this is that I just didn't "get" that tractors are so much more heavy duty than other product classes. Heck, I work in technology and the default expectation is that our stuff will be in the landfill in 6 months.

You guys gave good advice and I went and looked at the MF again as well as the Yanmar (still like the idea of having the same engine type in both my boat and tractor)... the pedal configuration of the Yanmar was a complete show-stopper for me and I will be putting my order in for a MF1710 when the dealer opens up on Tues. THANKS to all for the excellent input!
